When we started KWSC, we had access to a practice field at Old Moshi Secondary School where several of our first team’s players were students. The field was mostly dirt, but it was free. For the past 20 months, we have had only limited access to the Old Moshi field. We have filled in the gaps by renting practice and game fields, but the cost is considerable and the constant movement reminds us that Kilimanjaro Wonders does not have a real "home."
As we looked for a potential location for fields thata our kids could walk to, we found ourselves passing unused land on the grounds of the leading hospital and medical training facility in Northern Tanzania, Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center (KCMC). In January 2024, we approached KCMC's Chair, Dr. Gileard Masenga, to see if KCMC would have an interest in working together. After a year of working together from across the world, we have struck an agreement between KCMC and KWSC to construct up to 4 soccer fields and other athletic facilities on over 16+ acres of KCMC land. This KWSC/KCMC partnership will result in a first-of-its-kind Kilimanjaro Athletic Facility that will:
