THE KILIMANJARO ATHLETIC FIELDS PROJECT

When we started KWSC, we had access to a practice field at Old Moshi Secondary School where several of our first team’s players were students.  The field may have been mostly dirt, but it was free.  Unfortunately, a change in headmaster led to a change in relationship, and so since the latter half of 2023 we have had to rent practice and game fields, all at considerable cost.  

Over the past year, we have been looking for a way to have our own playing fields, and we are proud to announce an arraangement wiht KCMC that will provide just that.  Through a sharaed interest in active lifestyle and community involvement, we have worked with KCMC to strike an agreement that construct up to 4 soccer fields and other athletic facilities on over 16+ acres of KCMC land.  This KWSC/KCMC partnership will result in a first-of-its-kind Kilimnanjaro Athletic Facility that will support KWSC's soccer teams, our English classes, team meetings and meals, tournament hosting and expansion of our program in a place that all of our kids, volunteers, and supporters can call "home."
